2016 homecoming concert of the Metropolitan Washington Bahá’í Chorale

Concluding a busy performance season, this Sunday at 11 am the Metropolitan Washington Bahá'í Chorale will perform a free concert of spiritually uplifting songs at the Washington DC Baha'i Center, where the singers gather for practice on Sundays.

During the recent of commemoration of the birthday of Martin Luther King Jr., we sang with at three different celebrations — in Alexandria VA, College Park MD, and Mt. Vernon VA.

Following these performances, we will be joining a concert and program organized by Mosaic Harmony, whose director David North soloed with us in College Park MD.

Three performances to honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

The City of Alexandria will honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., in a community program. The program, Our World, His Dream! Make it Happen!, presented by the Martin Luther King, Jr., Memorial Planning Committee, will include welcome remarks by City of Alexandria Mayor Allison Silberberg, a keynote address by former Washington, D.C. Mayor Sharon Pratt Kelly, and music by the Metropolitan Washington Baha’i’ Chorale.

A fan of the chorale took a brief video capturing us performing “O Son of Being”, a song composed by our former director Van Gilmer with words from The Hidden Words by Baha’u’llah.
